Stands for Integrity
Integrity: The Bedrock of Public Trust
Integrity is the cornerstone upon which the public’s trust in government is built. It is more than a virtue; it’s the bedrock that supports the entire edifice of our democratic republic. When I look at the words on each of my signs across Heber City—especially the word Integrity—it’s a personal vow to uphold not only the laws of the land but also the moral standards expected of those who hold office.
In Heber City, as in any community, the expectation is that leaders conduct themselves with a sense of morality and rectitude that transcends the bare minimum of the law. The oath of office is a sacred commitment to this principle, reflecting a pledge that is enshrined in the heart of the Constitution. “…to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same…” This clause is a powerful affirmation of my commitment and my duties will be performed with an unwavering commitment to do what is right, even when faced with challenges or when it would be easier to look the other way.
My promise to the citizens of Heber City is to maintain the highest standards of integrity in every decision, every policy, and every interaction. This promise is the essence of my commitment to you—a pledge to be honest, to be fair, and to act consistently in the public’s interest. Whether scrutinizing city budgets, planning for growth, or engaging with our community, the integrity of the process and of the individuals involved will always be paramount.
A government that operates with integrity is a government that earns and keeps the faith of its citizens. It’s a government that can effectively collaborate, solve problems, and navigate the complexities of civic management. It is my belief that through integrity, we can lay a foundation for the future of Heber City that not only meets the needs of today but rises to the challenges of tomorrow.
